My dear friend Raquel lives on a farm in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. She is a consummate artist and gardener. I was visiting her last spring, and woke up just in time to see the morning mist lifting from her garden. The subtle blend of colors in the casual carpet of purple bugle, small yellow flowers and dusty greens accented by pink bleeding hearts and lilac bushes was so lush, I couldn’t resist painting it. |
