I painted this small pastel from a photo taken last summer while traveling with my husband in California. It was late in the evening, and we had just reached the town of Cambria at the southern end of Big Sur, looking for a place to have dinner. We walked around, taking in the small shops in well-kept cottages, admiring their lovely gardens. These red Nasturdiums by a garden gate just glowed in the golden light. |
