| The road to Ranchito San Pedro in Española was lined with these venerable cottonwood trees, giving welcome shade and shelter. One quiet morning I sat by the entrance to our place and painted the scene. It had been so warm that the trees had not started to turn yet, but remembering the lovely shades of bronze and gold that cottonwoods take on, I put in a bit of those colors to evoke the season. |
