Monhegan Island Watercolor Painting

I was feverish from the moment I landed on the island, but knew I only had one day there to paint. After the fog lifted the afternoon was lovely, so I willed myself up the trail to the famous headlands. Artists have painted here for more than a century and the beauty of this rugged coast, among the highest points in this area, is famous. I made it as far as Burnt Head--the view here is looking toward White Head.
