Marshall Hall is an old manor house built around the 1730's in southern Maryland. It was the home of the Marshall family for many generations. When I first moved to the Washington area, there used to be an amusement park at this site and the old manor house was a restaurant/visitor center. People rode on a boat from Virginia to get there. The manor house burned down the 1970's; after that the amusement park closed and the place reverted to a natural state. Later the state of Maryland acquired it and it is now a very pleasant park with a somewhat stabilized but still off-limits ruin.
