Blue Holly Watercolor Painting

This was an exercise done in class to work on the use of washes and explore tone values. We were instructed to use only one pigment, in this case Windsor Blue. I lifted the small veins in the leaves with a tiny brush after the darker wash on the leaves had dried. The sprig was first sketched from life.
