After the Blizzard Oil Painting

The winter of 2010 will be remembered for its two record-setting back-to-back snow storms in February. It was the most snow recorded in our area ever--over forty-five inches! The morning after the blizzard our back yard was transformed into this enchanting landscape. I painted from my Dining Room window as it was way too cold to be outside. I ventured out later to try to broom the snow off the branches and sank in up to my thighs. For more about the painting check out my blog entry at Maza Studio.
