| In the summer of 2003, I once again returned to Santa Fe. This time I particularly wanted to see the cactus in bloom, and was not disappointed. The cholla, yuccas and other cacti were at the height of their display. I was privileged to paint their delicate blooms opening as the sun's rays warmed them, or closing as the sun waned in the late afternoon, their amazing colors marvelous contrast with the tones of earth and vegetation. |
