| The lovely setting of this village at the foot of Truchas Peak (second highest in NM) and its unusual character fascinated me: a mix reminiscent of an Italian alpine village crossed with New Mexico's traditional adobe houses, with firs and aspens sloping down through stream-crossed meadows to cholla cactus dotting the lower areas. |
